The beetle is mechanically solid and ready for a new owner. Is is not perfect, nor is is 100% correct, but it is very nice overall. The floor pans have been replaced and the work was done to a very high standard. The rear fenders and apron are original, although the front hood and fenders have been replaced. The single-stage paint is three years old and presents itself nicely although it does have some flaws. Like there is a whining sound in first & second gears. Silent for third & fourth. I did changed the trany oil with MOTUL SAE 75W90 hoping it’d silence 1st & 2nd, without susses. Brakes are wanting to stick and the left rear wheel seal is showing some leakage. Illness has kept me from repairing these and I don’t trust anyone to do it. Someone with the skills, it wouldn’t be a big problem. The body is straight and free from dings or dents. In general the car is dry and rust free. The interior is clean with lots of correct details, although the fabric chosen for the upholstery differs from original. Overall a solid car with a lovely history. I would consider this a step above a ‘driver’ but not quite a concourse car and the price reflects that.
My car is located in Slidell, LA. Viewing and questions a welcome and encouraged.
